Education Without Barriers: A Lifelong Goal

Broadway Stages President and CEO Gina Argento wants to ensure that students in Brooklyn and Queens have access to high-quality Catholic education. Gina embraces educational freedom, standing with causes such as the 2017 Joe DiMaggio Award Dinner hosted by Futures in Education to ensure that students do not face financial obstacles in New York.

The Joe DiMaggio Benefit presents Gina with the opportunity to eliminate financial barriers that impede academic success. As an event benefactor, Gina's contribution has positively relieved students and families of the financial burden associated with attending Catholic grammar schools.

Having previously worked with Futures in Education as an Archangel (a benefactor to individual students), Gina is familiar with the excellence of educational programs and believes the high educational standard prepares qualifying students to succeed.

Broadway Stages' Philanthropic Efforts Reach All the Way to the Philippines

In 2013, Category 5 typhoon Haiyan, with winds up to 196 mph, devastated the Philippines. Sweeping across the land, Haiyan's winds destroyed hundred of roads, homes, and buildings. One school along Haiyan's path was Mangoso Elementary School in the Eastern part of the Philippines.

Four years ago this was the destruction caused by Haiyan:

The destruction caused by Haiyan left the Eastern provinces of the Philippines without an educational institution for students to attend. To ensure access to education, Parktivity took to reinstate the operations of the Mangoso Elementary and education in the Eastern Philippines.

Sharing the belief of helping communities and improving student education, Broadway Stages donated, on behalf of CEO Gina Argento, towards the reconstruction of the elementary school. The restoration program has had an immense impact on the community where Mangoso Elementary is located. Not only were the donations used to build the school, but funding was also allocated to provide locals with jobs in building the school and reintroducing capital into the economy.

Through our combined efforts, this is how the Mangoso Elementary School looks today! This is a great example of how powerful coming together and helping others can be!

Broadway Stages Follows the Sun

Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, believes in a clean and energy-efficient future.

The sun is a powerful source of natural energy that can be harnessed to replace forms of non-renewable energy resources such as fossil fuels and coal. With the ability to produce massive amounts of energy — over 1.74 x 10^17 watts per second — solar energy is not only clean but an extremely powerful energy outlet.

Leading the sustainable energy movement in New York's film production industry is Broadway Stages. Since 2010, Broadway Stages has installed more than 1mW of solar panels that reduce our total carbon footprint and air pollution. As the first solar-powered full service soundstage in New York City, Broadway Stages looks to continue our commitment to the environment.
