Brooklyn Proud-Davey’s Ice Cream

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Broadway Stages. In celebration of our 40th trip around the sun, we are shining the spotlight on the heart of our community – the local businesses that provide the essential or simply enjoyable goods and services that allow us to thrive and delight in this great city we call home. We begin the series in our beloved Brooklyn by looking at the local shops that line our streets, providing our neighbors, family, and friends a livelihood. Join us on our journey and get to know the people and businesses that make our community home. Today, we bring you ZAGAT rated Davey’s Ice Cream on Meserole Avenue!

Summer is around the corner, and nothing is better on a hot day than ice cream! Luckily, we have Davey’s Ice Cream that has been rated by ZAGAT as one of NYC’s best.

Former graphic designer, David Yoo, opened his first ice cream shop in the East Village in 2013. Today, in addition to East Village, Davey’s Ice Cream can be found across the city including midtown at the Moynihan Train Hall, RIIS Park Beach in Queens and Greenpoint at 74 Meserole Avenue. You can even place an order online at Goldbelly!

Davey’s is not just your average ice cream shop. Davey’s does ice cream by the pint or cone, and cakes for everyday celebrations like birthdays and even weddings, and their menu includes an array of sundaes, homemade baked goods, and drinks. They also have made-to-order ice cream sandwiches, pie milkshakes, and ice cream floats. And they cater as well!

Dedicated to quality, Davey’s formulates and pasteurizes their own ice cream bases in-house to ensure the highest standards throughout all of their flavors. Moreover, they support their local and state economy using local Hudson Valley fresh milk and cream from local New York State creameries. And they love to work with local businesses and restaurants to create unique and limited-edition flavors.

Both the East Village and Greenpoint shops are open for take-out and delivery. Check out their current menu at UberEATS, Postmates, GrubHub, and DoorDash, then place an order and tell them that Broadway Stages sent you. And don’t forget to follow them on Instagram and Facebook for deals and menu updates. Enjoy!
