Brooklyn Proud | Paulie Gee’s Pizza

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Broadway Stages. In celebration of our 40th trip around the sun, we are shining the spotlight on the heart of our community – the local businesses that provide the essential or simply enjoyable, goods and services that allow us to thrive and delight in this great city we call home, and where Broadway Stages operates. We begin or series with our beloved Brooklyn. The local shops that line our streets, providing a livelihood for our neighbors, family and friends. Join us as we journey throughout Brooklyn, and get to know the people and businesses that make our community home. Today, we feature one of the best pizza joints in the nation, the delectable and iconic Paulie Gee’s!

Pizza is without a doubt one of the most popular dishes in the nation, and New York City is often ranked as the pizza capital of America. It’s a regular on dinner tables, especially on Friday night.  And everyone has their favorite style and topping combination, along with their go-to pizza joint.  One of our favorite places to grab a pie or a slice is the focus of today’s spotlight – Paulie Gee’s.

The original Paulie Gee’s opened in 2010 in Greenpoint by Paul Giannone who honed his hobby of pizza making into a profession.  Formerly a software-quality-assurance engineer, he walked away from his desk job to follow what had become a passion.  Today, Giannone has seven locations and is planning to open his eighth in New Orleans.

Fortunately for us, we have two of those locations in Greenpoint – Paulie Gee’s at 60 Greenpoint Avenue, and Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop at 110 Franklin Street offering take-out and delivery, available exclusively via DoorDash and Caviar.  Whether you are in the mood for a whole pie or just a slice or two, you can feed your craving for amazing pizza any day of the week.  Offering traditional New York and Sicilian style pies including vegan options, and specialty pizzas like The Freddy Prince and Hellboy2, Paulie Gee’s has become a Brooklyn institution.  Do you love pizza? Have you ever wanted to learn how to become a Pizzaiolo? Why. not join the Paulie Gee team. They are always on the lookout for passionate, dedicated, skilled employees to join the crew! Next time you’re craving a pizza pie, check out Paulie Gee’s and when you get there, tell them that Broadway Stages sent you.
