Queens Proud | Glendale Lumber

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Broadway Stages. In celebration of our 40th trip around the sun, we are shining the spotlight on the heart of our community – the local businesses that provide the essential or simply enjoyable goods and services that allow us to thrive and delight in this great city we call home. We continue our series in the borough where it all began, Queens, and feature the local establishments that line our streets, providing our neighbors, family, and friends a livelihood. Join us on our journey and get to know the people and businesses that make our community home. Today, we visit the hard-working people at Glendale Lumber!

In 1920, Ed Wagner opened Glendale Lumber on Proctor Street (now located on 73rd Place) in Glendale, New York. Today, a fifth generation of the Wagner family still supplies lumber and related products for large and small projects throughout the New York City metro area.

Success has been challenging and well-earned. The business survived the Great Depression, a World War, and a devastating fire largely due to their resolve to focus on quality, customer service, and selection, which remains a constant today. With a broad array of products, from lumber, plywood and windows to doors, hardware, moldings, drywall, and much much more, Glendale Lumber is your one stop shop for building related products and services.

Their knowledgeable staff is available to provide expert advice on custom orders, weather millwork, cut-to-size service, or blade sharpening, and strive to help out in every possible way.  They even offer recommendations to find the right contractor to help with your project.  Not that’s service!

In addition to providing exceptional products and services, Glendale Lumber’s impact on the local economy — with employment opportunities and support of other local businesses — has contributed to the continued success and attraction of the family-friendly neighborhood that is its namesake.

Glendale Lumber is ready to meet your construction project needs. Check out their newly renovated millwork showroom with displays from some of today's leading names such as Jeld-Wen Doors and Wolf Kitchens.  They also have a wall of moulding that includes the latest profiles of door casing, base moulding, crown moulding and more.  You can find Glendale lumber at  71-21 73rd Place in Glendale, follow them online on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, or call them at 888-232-1692. And be sure to tell them that Broadway Stages sent you.
