Business Spotlight - The Sandwich Shop in Williamsburg

Welcome to Broadway Stages’ Business Spotlight where we talk about the many local companies that we and our clients love to work with. This month we’re spotlighting The Sandwich Shop in Williamsburg.   Established in 2013, this restaurant boasts some of the best sammies in the City!  The menu includes salads, soups and chili, and they also provide catering services.

Unique ingredients come together to bring customers delicious and honest home cooked comfort food with an international flair that is cooked up to remind you of great times with loved ones.  Owner and chef Clarisa Penzini Picon together with partner and husband, Ricardo Picon, welcome their customers like family.  Broadway Stages’ clients frequent The Sandwich Shop and can’t seem to get enough of their home cooked love served up in between two slices of bread or in a bowl.

But savory food was not chef’s first love. In fact, about 20 years ago Clarisa attended a French culinary institute where she became an expert in french pastry. She went on to become well known for her amazing wedding cakes, but decided that she wanted to dive into savory cuisine.  With the transition, she moved on to work at several high-end kitchens which inspired her to focus on something she loves making — SANDWICHES! And boy-oh-boy does she deliver, bringing a modern approach to the classic sandwich that sets The Sandwich Shop apart from others in the area.  Several of Broadway Stages’ clients frequent The Sandwich Shop, for large, small and individual orders. Clarisa and Ricardo credit the TV and film industry with their growth into large-order catering; providing food for a full TV crew has been an exciting and rewarding opportunity.

Broadway Stages thanks The Sandwich Shop for their support of the industry and our community, and congratulates them on their success and delicious food.  If you haven’t already tried it, we encourage you to head on over the The Sandwich Shop at 658-A Grand Street or check them out at www.thesandwichshopbk.com.
