Broadway Stages Congratulates SAG Award Winners

The 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards included some fairly predictable wins in the individual film categories, but the genuine surprises in the ensemble categories made for an exciting night.

The South Korean film "Parasite" became the first foreign language film to ever win in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, beating all-star casts like "The Irishman" and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."

Joaquin Phoenix continued to rake up awards for his performance in Todd Phillips' dark psychological drama "Joker," winning for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. Renee Zellweger has also swept this awards season, securing another trophy for her performance as the legendary Judy Garland in "Judy." In the supporting categories, Laura Dern and Brad Pitt continued their winning streaks for their performances in "Marriage Story" and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," respectively.

On the small screen, the casts of "The Crown" and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" won for best ensemble in a drama series and comedy series, respectively. The cast of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" were completely caught off guard by the big win, as many thought "Fleabag" was a shoo-in. Other big winners included Tony Shalhoub ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel") and Phoebe Waller-Bridge ("Fleabag") for their leading roles in a comedy series and Peter Dinklage ("Game of Thrones") and Jennifer Aniston ("The Morning Show") for leading roles in a drama series. Congratulations to all the winners!
