Futures in Education Scholarship Fund Night Honors Broadway Stages President

The mission of Futures in Education is to help ensure that students in Brooklyn and Queens can continue to receive quality Catholic educations without financial burdens. Through its Angels program, Futures in Education connects independent contributors with students to alleviate costs related to tuition and educational resources. Angels give students access to quality education without financial burden.

To recognize individuals that have gone above and beyond in that commitment, Futures in Education holds an annual Scholarship Fund Dinner. The dinner celebrates and recognizes outstanding individuals who dedicate incredible effort and have shown support for Futures in Education's mission to provide quality education.

Broadway Stages Celebrates Opening of NY Sun Works Project Farm House

Celebrating alongside sponsors and supporters, NY Sun Works revealed its new Project Farm House location yesterday. Among the attendees were members of the Broadway Stages family, who came to show their support and learn from students how hydroponic education has changed their learning experiences. Broadway Stages was happy to hear from students that they were able to design their own scientific experiments involving hydroponic systems and test their hypotheses. Seeing the students' excitement in presenting their findings inspired the Broadway Stages family to do even more for New York City students. 

As a strong supporter of science education accessibility, Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, is enthusiastic about NY Sun Works's incredible dedication to introduce an innovative and interactive style of education to students. In fact, Gina, along with the Broadway Stages family, did not hesitate to sponsor and donate to NY Sun Works's Greenhouse Project and Youth conference when first partnering with NY Sun Works. After all, Gina and NY Sun Works both share the same goal of providing access to innovative and quality educational resources to students without any costs. Seeing the fruition of her dedication and commitments to NY Sun Works last night was truly a treat that only further strengthens her commitment to education. Lakeland Scholarships Sets a Record High!

Lakeland just celebrated their annual fundraiser to provide high school students in New Jersey the opportunity to receive college scholarships. This year, the golf outing raised a record-breaking $165,000 for students in New Jersey. The funds will help students at 73 high schools and five colleges, maximizing local communal impact and increasing student outreach.

Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, was excited to hear the announcement that this year's efforts have reached an all-time record! Having previously supported Lakeland's fundraising and scholarship events, Gina is happy to see that more people and more contributions are being dedicated to help high school students offset college tuition costs. As a sponsor to the scholarship fundraising event, Gina hopes that this year's record high will inspire more individuals to attend Lakeland's next fundraising event so that we are able to support more students every year! Broadway Stages Sponsors Touch-A-Truck Educational Fundraising Event

The annual Touch-a-Truck event is back! This past Saturday, the iconic bus was stationed on Leonard Street to raise funds that will be used to help purchase books for children. Tickets gave participants access to fun games, food, and art activities. The whole event was a success, with over 250 tickets sold and even more smilies on children's faces.

Funds raised from the Touch-a-Truck event will be used to offset operating costs and most importantly to purchase new reading material for school children. Most excited for the event was Broadway Stages President Gina Argento, who has supported Brooklyn Story Voyager's Touch-a-Truck in the past and sponsored this year's event. With Gina's donation and ticket sales, Brooklyn Story Voyager will be able to purchase hundreds of new books for students to read. Supplying hundreds of children with reading material is an amazing feat accomplished by members of the Brooklyn community together!

Broadway Stages Supports Hydroponic Education

Over the summer, hydroponic education and STEM education sprouted in dozens of new schools and local communities across Queens and Brooklyn. Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez welcomed five new partnerships between schools in Brooklyn and Queens through federal grants. She was able to allocate these federal funds to build new hydroponic labs, provided by NY Sun Works, to teach city students about urban agriculture.

Moreover, the biggest hydroponic news story of the summer came from Brooklyn and the "Growing Brooklyn's Future" initiative set forth by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. His new educational initiative will create new hydroponic classrooms in over a dozen schools in Brooklyn communities including Brownsville, Bushwick, and East New York. With an outstanding budget of $2 million to be used on labs built by NY Sun Works, students will now have unparalleled access to hydroponic and STEM resources like never before.

Broadway Stages President Gina Argento is grateful that city officials share her passion and advocacy for greater access to and greater quality education for students in Queens and Brooklyn. As a sponsor to and financial supporter of NY Sun Works, Gina wants to express her gratitude toward city officials who share her goals to add new educational resources to New York City's school curriculum. The additional support from city officials will ensure that greater funds will be allocated to allow interested students to learn about innovative urban agriculture, sustainability, and STEM education that was unprecedented before.

Broadway Stages Supports Futures in Education

Futures in Education helps connect student families with individuals acting as Angels or people who help subsidize or completely eliminate tuition costs for students. Funding for the Angel program is completely dependent on the generosity of individuals who wish to contribute. The Angel program has helped more than 700 students in Brooklyn and Queens to attend their desired grammar school and beyond.

In addition to the Angel program, Futures in Education holds an annual scholarship fund dinner to help secure additional funding for student education sponsorships. Broadway Stages Grants Scholarship Award to Student Filmmaker

Broadway Stages would like to congratulate Rachel Chow as the first recipient of the Broadway Stages Scholarship Award!

Honoring student passion in filmmaking and pursuit of the arts, Broadway Stages helps Kingsborough Community College reward students with high academic drive by introducing the Broadway Stages Scholarship Award. The new scholarship stems from the rising partnership between Broadway Stages and Kingsborough Community College after participation in KCC's CXM Academy. The award will help Rachel offset educational costs to further her studies.

Broadway Stages is happy to see enthusiastic future filmmakers like Rachel excel. As one of New York City's largest full-service film production companies, Broadway Stages is always looking to encourage the next generation to follow their passion in film and look forward to helping them lead a successful career in the film industry. Broadway Stages Supports Science Education for All

Broadway Stages believes in supporting science education for the advancement of green technology and energy efficiency. Over the past few years, Broadway Stages has contributed to a series of events that helped spread, educate, and inspire new recruits to join the scientific community.

Earlier this year, Broadway Stages sponsored Green Science Week at PS 110. The annual event centers around the importance of sustainable living and renewable energy resources. The educational lessons and activities sponsored by Broadway Stages teach elementary school students about solar energy, agriculture, and recycling. Students at the Greenpoint school learned also learned about nutrition, chemistry, and physics through a collection of mini experiments and activities.

Broadway Stages works with NY Sun Works to include high school students and bring the frontier of science education closer by building Greenhouse Project Labs across the five boroughs and New Jersey. Focusing on providing hands-on STEM learning workshops, NY Sun Works wants students to experience the excitement of active participation in scientific experiments that go beyond traditional classroom learning. In addition to learning about solar panels, fish farming, and composting, students also learned about hydroponic growing systems, which are a modern adaptation of farming in smaller urbanized environments. At the Greenhouse Project Labs, students are able to participate in planting hydroponic agriculture with the end goal of harvesting their plants used to create their own nutritious meals.

At Kingsborough Community College, Broadway Stages was able to help sponsor the STEM Lab to allow college students to have the needed equipment and space to conduct their scientific research. Using the lab, student researchers are able to compete at the top level of their fields and explore the frontier of scientific theories, concepts, and experiments.

Broadway Stages wants to inspire scientific learning even beyond the boundaries of a classroom by inviting New Yorkers to our Rooftop Farms location. Dedicated to addressing the benefits of urban farming, water conservation, and sustainable principles, Rooftop Farms looks to accomplish urban agricultural sustainability while preserving freshness and quality. Visitors are welcome to learn and enjoy the experience of urban farming guided by Rooftop Farm instructors and volunteers every Sunday at no cost.

Broadway Stages President Gina Argento Supports Local Scholarship Event

Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, is joining Lakeland Bank in serving high school students of Hamburg, New Jersey. Gina will participate in the 44th Annual Scholarship Fund Golf Outing as a lunch sponsor, contributing financial donations to the fundraising event for student scholarships. Funds raised at the event will be used to support students attending public and private schools in the Hamburg area. The direct allocation of funds to the community is part of Lakeland's commitment to reinvest back into the Hamburg community.

As a Brooklyn-based business, Broadway Stages has sponsored school events and educational workshops for Brooklyn students to further their education. Gina recently had the opportunity to work with Kingsborough Community College's CXM Academy and Scholarship program, so it is no surprise that she is enthusiastic to support Lakeland's goal to help New Jersey students. As a financial contributor to Lakeland's scholarship fundraiser, Gina hopes to give students the opportunity to pursue their educational careers.

Broadway Stages Supports Student Learning on the Go

Books are a great way for children to learn and explore a wide range of subjects through literacy. Being able to learn the principles of biology or discover the adventure of Jack and the Beanstalk makes books the educational gateways that help lead students to academic achievement and self discovery. Though originally only limited to the confines of a library, the Brooklyn Story Voyager is now a library on wheels that brings a reading classroom wherever the students live.

For the 5th Annual North Brooklyn Touch-a-Truck Fundraiser, Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, has partnered with the St. Nicks Alliance to replenish the Brooklyn Story Voyager reading inventory with new children's books for elementary school children. By providing new books for children to read, Gina hopes they will be able to enjoy new educational science and fictional story books to further increase their educational literacy. This should undoubtably lead to more reading and more learning!

Helping provide elementary students with greater access to educational materials is part of the commitment that Gina has undertaken to eliminate educational obstacles. Gina has been a supporter of greater access to and greater quality of education for many years, working with multiple educational organizations and schools to achieve her goal. Broadway Stages Goes Greener Every Day With Kingsborough Community College

Kingsborough Community College (KCC) is helping create a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future with this year's Brooklyn Science Innovation Initiative. The program challenges students to develop their own sustainable concepts while studying real-world sustainability at KCC's Urban Farm.

Learning from their five-week experience at the KCC Urban Farm, students were able to better understand and explore how their innovative ideas can help impact the way we grow food. By performing hands-on activities, KCC students were able to directly test, observe, and explore their unique ideas. The summer program helped galvanize projects that involved a combination of recycling, solar power, composting, nutrition, energy conservation, and sanitation from the drawing board to reality. This is an exciting step to get more students involved in STEM research to help bring green ideas into reality.

Gina Argento, Trustee of Kingsborough Community College and President of Broadway Stages, is excited to see Kingsborough students enthusiastic about wanting to change the way we live by creating solutions to real-world environmental issues. Broadway Stages Encourages Students to SING!

Broadway Stages is proud to support SING!, an annual student musical production that showcases collective student talent. With attendance that easily fills the auditoriums of dozens of schools, SING! is one of the most popular events in participating high schools.

The production is fully run by students, from creative script writing to unique dance choreography and song selection. SING! challenges students to work in harmony for a greater cause. Most importantly, it is a great a way for students to build long-lasting friendships and learn teamwork skills through sharing the desire to create the best performance.

Created to spark student school spirit, SING! has accomplished itself beyond that capacity, with parents and school faculty rallying behind the event with just as much excitement. In fact over 5,480 parents, staff, and grads attend the annual SING! across 23 high schools to show their support and enthusiasm for the semester rehearsal and practice. The event is also a great opportunity for students to tie up the school year by showcasing their artistic talents to their parents and teachers.
