Gina Argento and Broadway Stages Help Budding Journalists Learn at the YMCA

Broadway Stages President Gina Argento has expanded her outreach to YMCA in Flushing.

The Flushing YMCA at JHS 189 is a community-based organization that is focused on cultivating experiences for youth development and education. The YMCA endorses a journalism program to encourage student participants to create and publish an annual YMCA magazine. As part of the program, participants enjoy a Broadway show to mimic real-life journalism with this year's review set for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

This year's budget was reduced, so funding was needed to purchase tickets and secure transportation to the event. As part of her commitment to advancing local educational opportunities, Gina financed the remainder of the needed funds. She hopes her donation will allow students to gain insight into the world of journalism. Join Gina and Broadway Stages in supporting future writers.

Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, a Member-at-Large for YMCA

A core value of Broadway Stages is to help children develop in a safe environment, and Gina Argento aims to improve the quality of life and health of Brooklyn youths by providing financial contributions to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. The campaign gives families peace of mind, as their children safely participate in a nurturing program that fosters their child's growth.

The Strong Kids Campaign aims to improve physical and mental health in developing youths by keeping them active with swimming lessons and basketball games. The program provides children at the YMCA in Greenpoint with free recreational activities so they can develop strong leadership skills and positive moral values.

As a parent to three young boys, Gina understands the need for recreational activities for youth development and will continue to provide free recreational development programs for YMCA youths as a Member-at-Large.

Broadway Stages Invites Students on a Studio Tour

Broadway Stages is always happy to support the local arts scene. We sponsored an after-school film course for high school students at the Ridgewood YMCA, in which the students worked on a documentary for their school. They ended the day with a tour of our studios in Glendale.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at the YMCA, the talented students, and our very own stage manager Dennis for giving a great tour.
